In Media Production I, students will engage in hands-on digital media production while using industry-standard equipment and software. They will learn how to work as media producers and explore careers in the dynamic industry of digital media production. Students learn DSLR cameras, microphones, audio recorders, and scripting. Advanced Media I students will help with creating other content with Media II and Media III students when needed.
Media Production II is for students that have successfully completed the standards for Media Production I.
This project-based course builds upon knowledge and skills from Television and Media Production I. Students will generate fiction and non-fictional media content. Students will enhance their digital media production skills by using Sling Studio. They put their knowledge of digital media production into action with use of sophisticated tools and equipment as they begin to develop their personal portfolios. Students will become proficient in editing with Adobe Premiere. Students will be responsible for creating content for the school broadcast Bobcat Pride. They will also help with the senior video and other school projects when needed.
Media Production III is for students that have successfully completed the standards for Media Production I & II.
This project-based course builds upon knowledge and skills from Television and Media Production I and II. Students will demonstrate mastery of media production knowledge and skills. They will create original productions, assemble a professional digital online portfolio, and investigate the dynamic media production industry. Students will research postsecondary opportunities and formulate strategies for both college and career success. Students will be responsible for producing Bobcat Pride and the annual Senior and Graduation videos. Also overseeing, and/or producing videos for the school, community, and/or competitions.
Projects and Video Productions is for seniors only unless otherwise approved. This course allows students to explore video and media technology, from the history of the field to current methods of planning and producing video media. Students will learn the basics of camera operation, audio, lighting, and editing by creating their own videos from storyboard to presentation. Students will be responsible for producing the Bobcast, RHS’s daily video announcements, as well as the Senior Video and any other special projects that are needed.
