The Art Department at RHS offers a variety of courses for students from beginner level Art 1: Foundations to AP Studio Art. Each course focuses on building technical artistic skill, learning about influential contemporary and historical artists and developing 21st century skills that can be applied outside of the art classroom. Students who are interested in additional art opportunities or leadership experience can apply to join the Radford High School chapter of the National Art Honor Society. Art students may participate in various exhibition opportunities throughout the year including the Scholastic Art competition, the Radford University High School Art Show, the RCPS Art Show at Glencoe Museum and the VSBA Art Competition.
